recently a long time coming

Jul. 31st, 2008 | 08:39 pm

Sometimes things happen very quickly over the course of many years. God opens your eyes to what was hidden in the open. Afterwards, you wish He had opened them sooner while also knowing that much sooner would have been too soon. For what was seen is now seen better–gloriously and well. Every facet a wonder of infinity to wander with joy excelling.

It's always very satisfying to see projects live and breathe in the wild after many moons of captive training. For my next trick, I will design something that isn't red...

when hard isn't

Feb. 18th, 2008 | 08:52 am

"That must be hard," the common refrain. "Kinda," the reply — less the flippancy, more the conviction of things unseen. It is hard when life's fist meets one's face, but there's a strange and eery peace after contact. Though the face may be blackened, it smiles, for it is the fist that is left broken...

why I think 'global warming' is nuts

Jan. 17th, 2008 | 10:28 am

And why those who don't would think I'm nuts...
"Never again will I curse the ground because of man, even though every inclination of his heart is evil from childhood. And never again will I destroy all living creatures, as I have done.
"As long as the earth endures,
seedtime and harvest,
cold and heat,
summer and winter,
day and night
will never cease."
That goes for little earth-destroying asteroids too.

An endearing J.C. Penney Christmas commercial.

I think the only thing that would have surprised me more would have been an endearing Old Navy commercial.

mockery vs. christianity

Oct. 24th, 2007 | 12:24 am

My dad once told me to never make the mistake of thinking that I have nothing to learn from another person, regardless of who they are. Even if I think I may know more about a particular subject than someone else, listening to them is still a chance to learn and grow, whether from their statements or their questions.

Recently I've found a rather interesting source to be learning from about modern Christianity: Atheists. The world is full of people that are at odds with Christianity and how it manifests itself. Be they scientist or comedian, our own weaknesses are being mocked by people who know that we should know better.

I ran across a video today entitled "These Christian Groups Have Lost Their Minds" by comedian and sodomite-activist, Margaret Cho. I was curious what she had to say, so I watched it. Here are some quotes:
"They're always up to some bull... Shouldn't you be busy preparing for the rapture? Aren't you supposed to be leaving soon? They have no right to call themselves Christians, because they have no Christianity to them. They have no kindness, they have no compassion, no charity. I want Jesus to come back and say, 'That's not what I meant.' They need to read the scripture where it says in Matthew chapter four, verse seventeen, 'Shut... up.' That's King James version, by the way."
"Even Satanists are saying, 'Wow, you guys are being really mean.'"
"[Republicans] know they can get votes if they pander to these Bible-thumping... monster-truck enthusiasts and get them all riled up. They send them into a mullet fantasia, about how gays are going to get married and move into their neighborhoods. As if we would ever live in a trailer park."
I wonder if she's familiar with Ghandi's infamous quote:
"All the world would be Christian, were not Christians so unlike their Christ."
I'm even more curious to know if she knows what Matthew 4:17 really says.
